Dan “Mr. Dan” Barris Executive Director Dan Barris, or “Mr. Dan”, as he is affectionately referred to by his students, is no stranger to the stage. Starting a performing career at the age of seven, Dan performed in George M., A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Burlesque (A Review of Vaudeville), and The Most Happy Fella. He defines his favorite character thus far as that of Rooster in the Broadway musical Annie.

He has worked with the Pediatric AIDS Foundation and created a pilot program with the Council of the Arts teaching rhythm through sound vibrations to hearing-impaired students. Creating Dancers Inc. combines Dan's love of dance and education. “We can all get an award,” he says, but inspiring a young student to dance better is his most valued experience to date.
